  • I started yoga 9.5 years ago. It has been an awesome journey with Shubhangi. The reason I started yoga initially was to get rid of my back pain. Yoga not only helped me getting rid of the back pain, it also helped me to know my body and mind very well. I don't have back pain anymore. Thanks to Shubhangi again.   • Shubhangi: I want to thank you for your teaching and support. Since we started 1:1 sessions about 4 months ago, I have been able to better manage my stress levels. I run a small business and life is always chaotic. The deep breathing exercises and simple poses are things that I turn to throughout the day to energize and calm myself as needed. I have reduced my blood pressure medication by half and I my overall bloodwork looks much better (I have mild asthma and am NIDDM). I sleep better and feel so much better. This yoga training has changed my life and I plan to continue on this path. The best part is that I don't need to run to a sweaty gym in order to exercise, I just use my own body. Pretty amazing!   • I wanted to learn yoga from Shubhangi for the past few years. The place where I live and my work did not permit me to attend her class in-person. With the Pandemic last year and Shubhangi offering virtual classes, it was a perfect opportunity for me to learn yoga from her. She is an incredible instructor with a very captivating teaching style. She has a way of guiding her students to new limits, both physically and mentally, which has you leaving her class with a sense of gratitude for practicing. My 1-1 session and group sessions are equally good, she is challenging and accommodating, she encourages you to do your best for what your body needs, and her experience and knowledge of the yoga practice she brings is amazing. I now do yoga multiple times per week and feel a greater connection between my mind and body. Yoga is such an important part of my week now and I am very grateful and thankful for the excellent guidance provided by Shubhangi!

  • I have joined Millennium yoga for 2 years. Ms. Shubhangi is a great teacher. She does not push people much but at the same time nudges from time to time to make sure we get better. She is one of the few teachers who often repeats "less is more" and believes that one need not do all the poses and make your body gradually ready for them.   • I have enjoyed and immensely benefited from Ms. Shubhangi's yoga class. When I started class 4 years ago, my body was very inflexible. I had difficulty even turning my head to look for blind spots while driving. Practicing yoga not only made my body more flexible, but also calmed my mind when under stress. I have applied breathing exercise learned from this class successfully prior to high stake presentation and meetings to calm my nerves and focus sharply.   • I was looking for a Yoga instructor since I wanted to get on a healthy lifestyle after my delivery. I’m so glad I found Millennium yoga and I enrolled for the in person yoga classes in July 2019. Shubhangi has been amazing throughout my journey! She not only helped me learn yoga poses with ease, but also made me realize the importance of Yoga in our lives! She also helps me with valuable suggestions about anything I ask whenever I need it! Yoga is an inseparable part of my life now. I even persuaded my husband to join in after Shubhangi started online zoom sessions due to Pandemic and he is also an active participant and loves these sessions.   • Whenever you look for a Yoga guru, you look for the following points: 1. Knowledge of Yoga. - Shubhangi's knowledge of Yoga is immense and deep knowledge. In fact I would like to call her a life coach instead of Yoga Guru for me. She has helped me and my wife in various other suggestions regarding health and not just Yoga. So I always naturally turn to her in case I need a suggestion in something related to life and every single time she has helped us get through the problem. 2. Structure in Yoga classes - Shubhangi structures her classes really well so that a beginner, intermediate and an expert can all do what they should actually be doing. 3. Individual Attention - Shubhangi has the unique ability to give individual attention to every participant in her class even though she is doing it on Zoom these days due to the pandemic. Zoom sessions are working really well for me. I'm amazed how nicely she is able to view fine details even during video session and help us correct our poses if we are doing something incorrectly(along with showing us the poses). Trust me this is not an easy thing to do. 4. Authenticity - A good yoga teacher shows authenticity in their personality. Shubhangi has the energy and a true passion for her teachings, wanting to educate and inspire others. 5. Self practice and self study - Even though she knows so much about Yoga, she still keeps us updated if she learns something new each time. 6. Adaptability - A good yoga teacher sees the individuality of each student and teaches them accordingly. Shubhangi knows in and out about every student's health condition and what should be done and what not. She always tells before hand if something should not be tried due to a health condition. For example: I have an ankle problem and she makes sure she warns me not to try something that may irritate my ankle. Due to current lifestyle, it is all the more important to focus on one's health. I would highly recommend Millennium Yoga if someone is looking for a Yoga Guru/Life Coach!

  • Yoga has helped me in a multitude of ways. One of the main ways yoga has helped me is with my lower back pain. I started off yoga with intense lower back pain and barely could sit up with a straight back. As I progressed every class, my back continued to get straighter and the pain slowly started to fade. Now I am able to sit with a straight back and feel extremely comfortable. My back has become so strong in a straight position that if I am in a hunched over position for an extended period of time my body will automatically correct the position of my back. In the process of strengthening my back, my body as a whole has become stronger. Another big way yoga has helped me is to deal with stress and anxiety. At first, I was skeptical about how yoga could help me with my stress and anxiety, but now it has become one of the most powerful tools. Before yoga, I would feel extremely stressed in a high-pressure situation, but after doing yoga I have the ability to calm myself relatively quickly and perform well in these high-pressure situations. Some examples of high-pressure situations are presenting in front of others and taking high stake tests at school. Yoga has also helped me deal with my emotions and control them. After doing yoga for a while, my emotions are more under control and even if my emotions get the best of me, yoga has provided me with the tools to calm myself. These are some of the major ways yoga has changed my life.

  • I first came to Shubhangi about 8 years ago. i continued sporadically and then returned in October 2018. One of the best things about Shubhangi is her calm and ever-smiling face. you get a sense of peace and calmness when you look at her.
    I love that the class is designed to fit a person's unique needs and capabilities. My goals were to get healthy, in shape, and to decrease work and commute-related stress. I had a lot of road rage- thanks to the long commute plus irresponsible drivers. In January of 2019, I had an epiphany while driving to work: My road rage has disappeared! This was a major milestone for me and I have not looked back since then. I have discovered something about myself. I have always been competitive and needed to push my body beyond its limits. But when you get that competitive, you loose sight of your body's capabilities and limitations. Sometimes some asanas can be detrimental to your body. I am finally at a point where I can acknowledge that it is ok if I am unable to do all the asanas. I can finally stop and admire a person who can do that particular pose without being envious or feeling like failure.
    This is the second major milestone at which I have arrived since practicing yoga with Shubhangi. I am finally making a mid-body connection.

  • I joined Millennium Yoga in October of 2019 and I am glad I chose to start my Yoga journey with Shubangi. She understands the individual body types and gradually teaches your body to adapt the asanas. One important thing which she does while teaching is she tells the importance of the asana and when and where you should do that. This particular knowledge helped me a lot recently. One fine day, my husband had a very bad sciatica pain, and I recalled Shubhangi telling in the class that "Thread-the-Needle pose" is good for such pains. I asked my husband to hold Thread-the-Needle for 30 secs on each side. To our surprise, the pain was reduced drastically. Since then he has incorporated this pose in his regular workout and he has not got those pains back. All thanks to Shubangi !!!

  • I joined prenatal yoga class in May 2019 and was a regular attendee though out my pregnancy till 39 weeks. I would have attended during the 40th week also, but I did the session myself at home. I like Shubhangi's way of teaching. She's so calm and friendly. She checks all asanas if I am doing in a proper posture. She recommends which asanas are good at what time and how to overcome stress. I always feel relaxed after the class. I enjoyed breathing techniques and they helped me deal with labor pains. I am so thankful for the sessions and for learning the breathing techniques. I never expected I could deliver normal after a c-sec with my first born. And I never expected I deliver without pain medication as well. Truly a blessing and I always think it was only because of the 5 months of yoga sessions that prepared myself ready for the labor. The nurses attending my delivery had no clue how much pain I tolerated as they were in idea that I was in early labor and there’s still long way to see a baby. I coped through all the labor pains with the breathing techniques and reminded myself to be calm and breathe the whole time.  The baby was out in less than 4 hours since I was admitted. I am looking forward to attending the regular sessions soon.

  • When I joined a year and half back (April 23rd 2018), I had no clue what to expect. Before joining the class, it was very hard for me to let go and be in the moment and I can’t even fathom myself meditating with too many thoughts going in my head and unable to focus. I still remember the very first class when you pointed out to me being stiff and let loose and wow!! What a difference that made when I could just relax. That was the beginning of my wonderful journey with Yoga and with you as my instructor. More than an instructor, I see you as my guardian angel because of your gentle and warmth nature. Your ability to read people and class being a medium for you to help everyone in dealing with crazy, stressful day to anything personal is just amazing. On a personal note, I am thankful for advise & guidance on any stressful situation that I’m dealing with knowing I can share it with confidence and have creative ways to navigate through. Simple tips from you on incorporating breathing and yoga regime in our daily routine is so helpful and life changing. The only regret that I have is not joining sooner, nevertheless it’s never too late to start the new beginnings. It’s been a life changing decision for me and I’ll not trade anything for weekly yoga class and look forward to refreshing session every week.

  • I started this yoga class a year ago mainly to regain my flexibility and to reduce work related stress. But soon after I joined the class , I realized that the sessions are therapeutic for mind and body, especially when I had gone through huge loss in my family. Shubhangi and her Yoga sessions helped me a lot to get through my tough times. The classes are so peaceful and we get to practice various breathing techniques, stretches and advanced poses. Shubhangi provides options for poses so each of us can choose the pose based on our flexibility and comfort level. I have definitely regained more flexibility.   • Yoga has been part of my life for the last few years on and off. But I have always wanted to learn from a teacher as I felt that would be the best way I can keep a Yoga routine for health body and a healthy mind. When I quit my job and shifted to US in May 2018, I wanted to focus on my health because with last few years of a busy job schedule and way too much travel I wasn't satisfied with the exercise routine I was following.
    Hence began my search for a yoga teacher and I feel blessed to have found Shubhangi who has really changed my outlook towards life and health for the better. My trial class was so good that I knew that I had found my yoga guru.
    One of the huge reliefs I have found from Yoga and pranayama is solution to my migraine headache which is hereditary. I was dependent on pain killer for many years. But now I just follow pranayama routine taught by Shubhangi and I don't need to take tablet anymore. Yoga has also made me more patient and calm. I will continue doing yoga and pranayama on a daily basis, which is a promise I have made to myself. Thank you so much Shubhangi. I would love to keep in touch even after I shift to India. Cheers!

  • I joined Millennium Yoga in the fifth month of my pregnancy. I would highly recommend the prenatal yoga sessions here.
    Although I had practiced yoga before, I hadn't been consistent at doing so. Shubhangi gradually introduced me to the asanas that are especially beneficial during this time. She would always encourage me to go at a very slow and steady pace that would be comfortable for me and my baby. My prenatal yoga routine would comprise of asanas that would energize me, followed by breathing techniques to help me channel that energy to my baby and leave me at a level of peace I had never experienced before. Moreover, Shubhangi's presence and her way of conducting the class helps you calm down from your daily stresses, which I think is extremely important during pregnancy. A happy mom is what leads to a happy baby 😊

  • My experience of yoga with Shubhangi is wonderful. I started yoga with her in July 2016. I learned to enjoy yoga and get inner peace rather than bunch of exercises and poses. After a year I am more knowledgeable about my own body and able to take care of it in a better way. I got a sense of which poses are helpful for which body part.   • Me and my husband joined the yoga classes from June 2015. Joining Millenium Yoga was one of the best decision I have made. I feel very refreshed and relaxed after every class.   • I joined Shubhangi's Yoga classes at Millennium Yoga in January of 2017. I come in once a week and I have learned micro yoga asanas and a little difficult ones too. I thoroughly enjoy each session and look forward to them.
    When I joined in January 2017, I had a severe round of carpal tunnel in my both hands. My middle, ring and pinkie were constantly numb and my arm would go numb as well at night. Shubhangi suggested some micro exercises for the arm and carpal tunnel. They have been my to-go exercises since then. I do them whenever I get a chance- in front of TV, at red light signal, walking, etc. I no longer have any of those symptoms any more. I am so grateful to Shubhangi for these exercises.
    I also had low back and upper back pain. With yoga asanas, I have been able to take care of that too.
    I feel much calm, have a more positive attitude towards life and am not screaming so much at my kiddo. :) The meditation and anxiety management techniques have helped me too.
    I am soon starting additional class with Shubhangi. She really understands each individuals' requirements, their body and then modifies the poses to make yoga simple and effortless for everyone.

  • I used to do yoga a dozen years back. I started Shubhangi's classes just a few weeks back based on my wife's recommendation, and really enjoyed them! Shubhangi tailored her guidance for each student based on their level of fitness and prior knowledge of yoga. I liked that she spent time with new persons finding out exactly what we wanted to achieve (fitness, stress reduction...) and showed us specific exercises and poses. I love that I get great stretching as well as cardio exercise in the class.

  • I had been meaning to start yoga for a long time. Last year in May 2016, I joined Shubhangi's yoga class along with another friend. For years, I had constant upper back and shoulder pain, and it almost disappeared after 3-4 sessions, It was like getting freedom :) This year, a few weeks ago I got some burning sensation in both hands, and when I mentioned this to Shubhangi, she showed me a hand mudra and by the end of the class, the burning actually went away!   • I joined Shubhangi’s yoga classes in February of 2016, with an intention to improve overall health. Within 2 weeks of my joining her classes, my strength improved and the minor pains and aches vanished. I realized that how a simple pose like Markutasana, with proper supervision/tweaking can do the magic. There started my wonderful journey with Shubhangi to rejuvenate my life.
    Shubhangi is a wonderful yoga teacher with patience as her middle name. She customizes her classes as per individual’s needs. One size fits all is a big NO-NO to her. Her clientele include participants of all ages from kids to seniors. She gets health history from every client and tweaks poses accordingly. Her knowledge of what is right for whom and when comes from her experience of working with people which is one of Shubhangi’s core strengths.

  • Lately I had developed wrist tendinitis. It's been a nagging pain and I felt a stiff stuck up energy in my arm. I had tried several remedies like massage, heating compress and was almost about to go see the chiropractor.   • This October, it will be a year since I started Yoga with you and I have to say, I struggled in the beginning when I saw how inflexible my body was and how some yoga poses are so easy for others but so tough for me, even though I considered myself to be quite fit.
    But today, I so love the class that often times I feel it’s the best 1 hour in my entire week. I see that I have progressed along, though a long way to go on my yoga asanas, but few things I gained the most are: an ability to calm my mind, able to relax and be happy in the moment and grow more strong in my mind that I can handle things that come my way, its ok to feel what I do but I have the ability to feel positive and keep myself happy.   • In July 2014, I started taking classes at Millennium Yoga with Shubhangi after my Dr. told me to find something to manage my stress better. At this point my skin would break out into unexplained hives all over my body for no apparent reason but typically after a long day at work or weekends. If one is looking to join yoga for its true meaning and not just another work out session, Millennium yoga is an ideal school..   • I have been attending Shubhangi’s sessions for the past year. I had severe shoulder pain and muscle stiffness. Shubhangi suggested yoga poses to ease my pain. She also included other poses in my routine that would strengthen my body and boost my morale.

  • I have always been drawn to yoga since I was in high school and attended yoga classes off and on but never followed the practice regularly. Ever since I started taking classes with Shubhangi, I found a new love for yoga and found myself addicted to it only after attending 2 sessions with her.   • I have been working with Shubhangi since 3 years now. I have always enjoyed yoga since childhood. For me yoga was more part of making my body flexible. Yoga is to connect inner self (breathing techniques) and know inner strength of your body (warrior pose). You become more focussed at work and it helps to relax your muscles and energize adrenaline.
    I have been to other yoga classes in New Jersey and St. Louis and even I tried one of classes here in San Jose before joining yoga at Millennium Yoga. Shubhangi makes great effort to understand strength and weakness of each one. She is always calm and composed which helps to create that ambiance.
    She understands that yoga is long term investment for our body. I really appreciate her knowledge about Yoga and bringing new poses to class. I have personally benefited a lot from yoga for inner self- realization, decision making, abs, strong arms, eye health, glowing skin and hair, and flexibility. It is important to have a yoga instructor who allows you to experiment and encourages at every movement. I haven't found anyone else till now than Shubhangi with whom I would like to continue doing yoga.

I attended your first session of the Yoga class and after just one session I started feeling the difference in my breathing, energy level within me, flexibility and are able to sit in the sitting position for more than a minute. The feeling I have is indescribable and I own this all to you for the change in my life.   • I am attending Yoga Classes at Millennium Yoga for over a year now. I had previous Yoga experience with Bikram Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Viniyoga. I enjoy Shubhangi's sessions, because the classes are small enough for her to give individual attention to each student. Prior to each class she asks whether there are any specific requests or health issues she needs to consider, in case the poses need to be adjusted. She always provides different variations of the poses so that each student, regardless of ability, can experience the benefit of it. When someone currently has difficulties, because they are not flexible enough or have knee or back problems, she always suggests alternatives. I learn something new each time and I particularly like that Shubhangi teaches not only the asanas and their effects, but also how to breathe correctly and how to focus the mind.

  • I enjoyed the interactive yoga sessions with Shubhangi. 1) Shubhangi's classes are small group and more personalized. 2) This is a major advantage over the large group yoga classes at any gym. 3) Typically, the large group classes at other places can be intimidating because their pace may not match yours. 4) At these other places they often force you to find a stranger as a partner for some parts of the yoga class. As a woman, I don't mind talking to strangers but I prefer not to seek help from strange men, esp. for yoga. 5) In Shubhangi's classes, there is no pressure, and most yoga positions are done independently.

  • I joined a yoga class in Fremont taught by Shubhangi a year ago. I was not a particular enthusiastic believer in Yoga at that time. When I joined Yoga class I had a problem in my right hand called "trigger finger". I could not bend my fingers or have grip for few. I continued yoga class and noticed improvement in my bending of fingers, and grip. To my surprise I could use my right hand normally. I am perfectly fine now. Now I go to class with a purpose and conviction.   • What I like about Shubhangi's yoga class is her calming voice, keen eye as to what would be appropriate for each of the participants, and how she educates us on yoga poses, what they mean, and how they help the body! She is a master at what she does! Everyone should take a class from her! I leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed! Everyone should do something good for themselves! This is it!

  • This was the best thing that happened to me in my life. My main motive of joining Yoga was to manage stress & it was well achieved. I would go in Shubhangi's class so stressed out after work, but would come out so relieved, relaxed and light. In fact, I was trying to conceive from so many years but it was not happening and after I joined Yoga, I got pregnant. Now, I am a mother of a beautiful son. May God fulfill everyone's dreams like mine were fulfilled through the magic of Yoga.

  • I recently attended her workshop on "Effectively Managing Allergies & Ashma with Yoga"; The hand gestures were great...my hands actually felt good after doing them; The breathing techniques were very beneficial to my health as I find myself holding my breath or tensing up a lot
  • The key to her classes is to "be in the present" and really listen and feel your body as you do the poses

I've been having back problems for years now and coming to Yoga Class has helped me a lot. Shubhangi has been one of the best Yoga teachers I've had.   • Each week Shubhangi focused on a different area; I really liked that she asked the students to choose which area to focus on at the start of class
  • With each pose introduced Shubhangi demonstrated clearly what we needed to do and explained the benefits of the pose
  • Initially I joined Shubhangi's class to stretch some tight muscles, but I really enjoyed the breathing and relaxation exercises
  • No matter how stressed or tired I felt going to class, I always left feeling more relaxed and energized

  • I have done yoga by myself, with family and with other instructors and I was not too convinced about any impact.
